Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections of first-off production parts against engineering specifications.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measuring equipment.
• Generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with industry standards (e.g., AS9102) and customer requirements.
• Document all inspection findings accurately, identifying and reporting non-conformances and deviations.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to analyze discrepancies and facilitate corrective actions.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Demonstrated expertise in operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
• Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Proven experience in generating comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 standards.
• Solid knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and relevant industry standards.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
• Familiarity with AS9102 or other industry-specific FAI reporting standards.
• Ability to perform basic root cause analysis for inspection findings.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
• Proficiency in 3D model-based inspection (MBD/MBR).
