?Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Survey Crew Chief to conduct various types of surveying including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivisions, and construction stakeouts. This role involves performing survey calculations, interpreting and verifying survey data, preparing survey documents, and assisting with project tasks such as scope, budget, and scheduling. The majority of projects will focus on construction layouts for data centers and automotive plants.
Responsibilities

Conduct various types of surveys including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivisions, and construction stakeouts.

Perform survey calculations and verify the accuracy of survey data.

Assist with the preparation of survey data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents.

Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain property information.

Write descriptions of surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents.

Monitor equipment and survey supplies.

Assist with reviewing the scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.

Monitor task budget and progress.

Conduct on-site inspections as needed.

Prepare project status and other reports.

Assist in the preparation of proposals.

Support Project Managers.

Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, and pre-construction.
Essential Skills
-
3 plus years in surveying
-
Construction staking experience
-
Construction layout experience
-
Knowledge of Trimble equipment (Total Station, GPS, Laser Scanners)

Trimble Access Software knowledge
-
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Work Environment
This role requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. The position offers flexible hours from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Taylor, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $39.00/hr.
