Pharmacist - Long-Term Care

Location: Farmington, MI
Pay Rate: $64.27/hour

Schedule

• Month 1: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Month 2: Part-time schedule (1–4 days per week)

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations in a dynamic and patient-focused environment. This role involves prescription fulfillment, clinical oversight, patient counseling, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription Processing & Dispensing

• Fill prescriptions and perform both initial and final verification
• Enter prescription data accurately into pharmacy systems
• Ensure medications are dispensed in compliance with all regulatory standards

Patient Care & Consultation

• Counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, side effects, and interactions
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify potential overuse or misuse
• Educate patients on medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Provide health services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management

Clinical & Compliance Responsibilities

• Ensure all prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patient use
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with regulations
• Identify and resolve drug-related problems in collaboration with physicians and healthcare providers

Compounding & Inventory

• Perform non-sterile compounding (preferred) and assist with sterile preparations as needed
• Maintain proper inventory levels of medications and supplies
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws and safety standards

Team Collaboration & Oversight

• Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and support staff
• Work closely with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Support overall pharmacy operations and workflow efficiency

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
• Active Michigan Pharmacist License required
• Non-sterile compounding experience preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
