Shipping & Receiving Technician
3-6 month contract position
Pay Rate: $17.00-$18.00 per hour Second Shift : 3:00pm - 11:30pm Position Summary of the Shipping & Receiving Technician (2nd Shift):
Pick and package daily shipments and knowledge of inventories. Process all papers, daily schedules and documents to perform duties. Keep accurate records of inventories. Assist in all areas of shipping, receiving, and production control when necessary. Roles and Responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Technician (2nd Shift):
- Help maintain accurate inventories
- Assist the audit of shippers for any changes to be made
- Audit all outgoing and incoming shipments
- Help with any customer service inquiries and follow-ups
- Train all coworkers in all aspects of shipping and receiving, when necessary
- Stage all shipments accurately
- Prepare shipments according to customer requirements
- Drive a forklift and/or hi-lo
- Ship by following the "First-In/First-Out - FIFO) procedure
- Receive all shipments accurately
- Record and input daily all receiving information
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
- Unload and load all delivering carriers
- Responsible for stock storage in the warehouse
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2+ years experience working in shipping/receiving
- Able to drive and operate a forklift and hi-lo
- Good computer skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience working in the automotive industry
- Able to lift 40lbs.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking
- Able to climb portable ladders
