Middle School Lunch Aide

Richfield Public School Academy, a charter school in Flint, MI, is hiring a part-time Middle School Lunch Aide. 5 hours per week.

Summary :

We are seeking an enthusiastic Middle School Lunch Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing a safe and positive environment during lunch periods, ensuring that all students have a pleasant dining experience. As a Middle School Lunch Aide, you will work closely with students, staff, and food service personnel to facilitate smooth operations in the cafeteria.

Responsibilities :

• Supervise students during lunch periods to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.

• Assist in managing student lines and maintaining a clean and orderly dining area.

• Help distribute food items and monitor portion sizes in adherence to nutrition guidelines.

• Support students with any questions or concerns regarding food choices and dietary restrictions.

• Assist in the setup and cleanup of lunch areas before and after meal service.

• Provide conflict resolution and mediation support as needed among students.

• Encourage positive interactions among students and promote a respectful lunch environment.

• Collaborate with cafeteria staff to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Report any incidents or safety concerns to the principal or designated staff.

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements :

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting preferred.

• Patience, kindness, and a positive attitude toward students.

• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in a busy and sometimes noisy environment.

• Basic food handling knowledge or willingness to learn food safety practices.
