Consumer Finance Underwriter and Operations Manager

General Job Summary
The Consumer Finance Underwriter and Operations Manager is responsible for directing and managing staff on completing tasks relating to processing, underwriting, closing, funding consumer finance transactions, and post-closing duties, as well as completing most of the same tasks concurrently, working on the more complex assignments. Primary functions include supervising the processing and underwriting of consumer finance applications/disclosures, obtaining necessary third-party documentation and validation, reviewing documentation for quality control, overseeing the preparation of credit packages for approval, overseeing the preparation of closing documents, and requesting/ approving funding of consumer finance transactions.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Manages consumer finance application pipeline using the related origination system.
- Overseeing applications for vehicle financing or home equity installment financing from consumers and supervising the preparation of necessary initial disclosures.
- Supervise processes/reviews of documentation, assist in obtaining third-party documentation and validations, prepare credit packages for approval or denial, oversee and prepare closing documents, and request/approve funding for approved financing transactions.
- Underwrite and approve or deny all consumer applications in accordance with program guidelines and credit policy.
- Review and respond to quality control findings and implement process and procedural changes as necessary.
- With the oversight and input of senior management, establishes and maintains necessary written procedures and processes.
- Advises clients and consumer Account Executives on UIF's consumer finance programs and solutions.
- Follow up with on-board closed consumer finance transactions to Bank/ Servicing after transactions fund and manage follow-up for proper lien placement documentation using available technologies.
- Assist in servicing functions as needed including collections, payoffs, Lien Releases, and repossessing delinquent consumer transactions.
- ordering and reviewing Vehicle insurance commitments, valuations, and other related functions.
Other Job Functions
- Assist with Strategic Initiatives & Vehicle Finance Division, SVP, in the leadership and development of the multistate vehicle finance division and other development initiatives as needed.
- All other duties are assigned by management.
Education, Training and Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related field desired.
- 5+ years' experience with operational and closing management of consumer finance products and services, including vehicle financing processing/closing/servicing required.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in banking/lending is required.
- 3+ years' experience consumer underwriting required.
- Experience working with Vehicle financing required.

Working Environment The primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and a private home office or some combination, which will be at the management's sole discretion. Employees may be subject to fluorescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employees may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments. Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
- Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).

The salary range for this role ($65,000 - $95,000 per year) takes into consideration a wide range of factors including but not limited to the duties of the role, experience, location, and certificates and/or education.
