About the Opportunity

Our client - a highly respected and well-established Mechanical Construction and Service company - is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in bidding, estimating, and cost analysis for mechanical, HVAC, and related construction projects, supporting operations and business development teams from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction, HVAC, plumbing, and related systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Review and analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop accurate material, labor, and subcontractor cost breakdowns.
• Identify and quantify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to develop competitive and compliant bid submissions.
• Maintain and update historical cost databases and unit pricing for continuous improvement of estimating accuracy.
• Conduct pre-bid site visits and coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors as needed.
• Prepare clear, concise estimate summaries, proposals, and supporting documentation for executive review.
• Support project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within mechanical construction, HVAC, plumbing, or industrial service sectors.
• Proven success leading complex commercial or institutional bids from start to finish.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, codes, and materials.
• Proficiency with estimating software (such as Trimble, Accubid, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for site assessments, as required.
