Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing

Position Summary: Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan invites applications for a full time, 9-month, academic rank eligible faculty position in nursing beginning fall, 2026. Salary commensurate with education and experience. A full benefit package including health insurances, disability, and a retirement plan is included.

CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Salaried – Tenure Track

REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing

DEPT: School of Health, Science & Technology

LOCATION: Grand Rapids Campus

ACADEMIC RANK: Assistant/ Associate Professor (Tenure-Track, 9/10-Month Appointment)

Key Responsibilities

A representative list of responsibilities includes:

· Teaching & Assessment

o Teach 12-15 credits of clinical and/or didactic nursing courses in areas of expertise (in-person and/or online).

o Participate in assessment and continuous improvement of assigned courses.

· Spiritual Modeling and Mentoring

o Spend additional time with students in a mentoring role in the classroom and during office hours

o Successfully model professional subject matter expertise with a Christian Worldview.

o Demonstrate strong personal faith commitment in and out of the classroom

· Program & University Service

o Assist with recruitment and retention of nursing students.

o Participate in departmental, school, and university committees and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

· A minimum of a master’s degree in nursing.

· An unencumbered RN license in the state of Michigan.

· A minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience.

· A demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and teaching.

· A willingness to support a strong team-based work environment.

· The ability to teach in both a classroom and clinical setting.

Preferred:

· Current enrollment in a terminal degree program (e.g., Ph.D. in Nursing, DNP, or equivalent).

· Experience teaching in both in-person and online modalities.
