Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Battle Creek, Michigan 49017 (Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Adult Outpatient Hematology/Oncology Clinic
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN contract)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40 guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: None
• Call Requirement: None
• Patient Ratio: Up to 7 patients per shift
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2120-$2180

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
• Minimum 1 year of recent oncology or hematology nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC chemo certification preferred
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Professional references required

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult oncology and hematology outpatients
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and infusion therapies using IV pumps and specialized equipment
• Monitor and assess patients during treatment, including vital signs, pain, and therapy response
• Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, and medication administration (IV, IM, subcutaneous)
• Educate patients and families on cancer treatment plans, medications, and symptom management
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and dieticians as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Utilize computer carts for bedside charting and documentation
• Maintain universal precautions and follow biohazard waste disposal protocols
• Participate in orientation and complete required annual training modules
