Audit & Tax Senior Associate - Detroit
Our client, a global European accounting firm is seeking a Senior Associate (Audit & Tax) to join its Detroit office. The role involves providing audit and tax compliance services to clients in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong communication and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise audit engagements, primarily for manufacturing and distribution clients
- Develop audit programs, evaluate controls, and perform technical accounting research
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
- Assist with income tax provisions under ASC 740 and various tax consulting projects
- Stay current with tax law changes and manage client inquiries and notices
- Oversee and mentor staff, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables
- Collaborate with senior leadership on business development initiatives
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, ideally in public accounting
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills
- Proven ability to multitask and deliver results in a team environment
- Experience in both audit and tax engagements
- CPA license or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Background in manufacturing and distribution
- Experience with ProSystem fx Engagement or CCH Axcess
