Maintenance Supervisor/Technician

CELO USA - Trident Fasteners, Inc., the USA branch of CELO, is a global company dedicated to the design and manufacturing of precision screws for industrial applications. As experienced fasteners manufacturer, CELO designs specific cold forming parts which includes licensed thread rolling screws for metals, metal blocking screws, and self-treading screws for plastics among others.

We are in Kentwood, Michigan, and have an immediate opening for a self-motivated, enthusiastic person who is hands-on and has a clear commitment on the company project as well as a positive attitude for the following position:

Job Description: Maintenance Supervisor.

Maintain the machinery and facilities of the CELO USA using adequately the human and technical resources available, and at the lowest possible cost, while reducing occupational risks. Lead and promote lean activities to gain efficiencies.

Main tasks and responsibilities: (*)

Defines preventive maintenance plan on all equipment and machinery in use by the company including, but not limited to, checking oil, lubricating, changing filters, cleaning of such machines and equipment, air tanks, transformer station, fire protecting system etc.

Supervise and coordinate the maintenance team to take corrective / preventive activities according to maintenance plan.

Fill in the quality and maintenance records, while maintaining accurate records of work.

Under supervision of plant management, performs and projects new installations, or equipment moves to improve the overall plant efficiency and layout.

Assures the availability of materials to perform a correct task with her team and purchases the necessary items. Responsible to purchase supplies (spare parts, oils, production consumables…etc.) and negotiate with suppliers.

Properly report problems and concerns about machines and equipment to appropriate persons and departments, such as machine repair.

Generally, keep machines and equipment in clean and neat appearance.

Trouble shooting and problem solving to all production machines.

Define plans to decrease production downtime because of machine malfunction.

Do 5S to the work site.

Other jobs assigned by the plant Manager.

Manages external supplier relations related to machines and equipment, utilities…etc. to assure the proper support in the factory.

Represents Maintenance department in audits and customer visits.

Responsible for KPI and quality indicators related to maintenance.

High School diploma or equivalent

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment

· Well organized and able to work with minimum supervision.

· Electrical certification and experience in the field is desired.

· Ability to read gages and interpret gage results.

· Possess current Hilo license or qualify to obtain it.

· Ability to understand functional aspects of machines.

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Other skills needed :

Lift 5-gallon pail of lubricating oil, weighing 75-85 lbs., 1-2 feet from floor, approximately 3-4 times per day.

Carry above 5 gallons pail of lubricating oil 30-100 feet from point of lift, approximately 3-4 times per day.

Use wrench or ratchet to tighten or loosen bolts, nuts on machinery periodically.

Climb ladder to Top of machinery, with steps approximately 1 foot apart, to top of ladder of approximate height of 10 feet.

Perform work such as bending, stepping, walking, twisting, turning, gripping, tightening, loosing, pouring from atop machines or elevated platforms (at a height of up to 12 feet).

Bend or stoop and work in small, confined spaces up to 48 inches in height, such as underneath conveyor lines for extended periods.

Previous experience:

Knowledge in a manufacturing department of an industrial company, most preferably in a metal sector.
