Commercial Lines Marketer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Commercial Lines Marketer to join our insurance agency. This role focuses on placing middle market accounts with our carrier partners, ensuring optimal coverage and competitive terms for our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship-building skills, a deep understanding of the insurance marketplace, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the placement process for middle market accounts by submitting applications and negotiating terms with carrier partners.
• Analyze client needs and match them with appropriate insurance products and carriers to secure comprehensive coverage.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives to facilitate efficient placements and resolve issues.
• Review and evaluate carrier quotes, ensuring alignment with client requirements and agency standards.
• Collaborate with account managers and producers to gather necessary documentation and information for submissions.
• Stay informed on market trends, carrier appetites, and emerging insurance products to provide strategic placement recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with agency protocols and industry regulations throughout the placement process.
• Provide timely updates to internal teams and clients on placement status and carrier feedback.
• Assist in resolving coverage or policy discrepancies in partnership with carriers and account teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
• Possession of an active and valid State of Michigan Property & Casualty Insurance License
• 3+ years of experience in insurance account management, placement, or underwriting
• Strong knowledge of middle market insurance products and carrier relationships
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, AMS360 and ImageRight; will consider experience with related agency management systems
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (Hybrid Work Options)
