PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Level 4/5 Designer role requires an individual with passions for collaboration, critical thinking, professional-growth, and great design, with an interest and experience to work in the Mission Critical market sector. The position requires an individual that excels within a hybrid work environment, is nimble and enjoys applying his/her/their talents through all phases of the project, from the earliest stages of a project’s development through construction administration. This position requires an individual to work in an interdisciplinary environment that includes HED engineers and architects as well as outside consultants
GENERAL DUTIES
- Design team leader responsible for overseeing assigned discipline team members to assure high quality design within allocated schedule and budget provisions
- Prepare for implications of pertinent ordinance and code requirements for assigned projects
- Conduct material and product research as required for project development
- Create presentations, project reports, and narratives; improve drawing graphics and 3D representation of ideas, plans and diagrams
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Develop the organization, design, and construction for successful data center design
- Develop the project ‘kit of parts’, program spaces, and basis of design (BOD) for a data center design including prototype development
- Develop building and site master plans including preparing entitlements packages
- Develop site test fits and building layouts in response to the BOD
- Develop the project’s big idea and implement a design in response to the project goals
- Develop and maintain ongoing efforts to improve sector efficiency and quality of work
- Utilize generative design and automation tools to create programs that can be incorporated into Revit models; utilize design tools for planning building design iterations
SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (4-year) degree
- Licensure preferred (or, at minimum, active pursuit of licensure)
- LEED Accredited Professional and/or WELL Accredited Professional preferred
- Minimum eight years' experience in A/E industry preferred, with demonstrated proficiency to lead project design efforts on a range of project sizes and complexity, comfortable leading multiple projects simultaneously when needed
- Robust planning, design, and graphic skills required
- Commitment to an integrated design process across all impacted disciplines and participants, including extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to motivate and mentor staff and delegate work assignments
- Proficient in BIM/Revit as well as Microsoft Word, Excel Required
- Experience in Rhino, Concept Board, InDesign, Illustrator, Bluebeam, and Revizto preferred
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible
- Ability to work well with others, especially under deadline situations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Capable of traveling to attend on-site client, project and construction meetings
- Ability to access project sites for observation, investigation and evaluation purposes
- Ability to use equipment/technology for communication and documentation purposes
- Visual acuity to perform responsibilities
