Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Job Description:
- Must be Board Certified by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)
- Reason for Coverage: Short staffed
- Start Date: ASAP. Credentialing requires up to 90 days before candidate can start.
- Completion of an Accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program is required.- Board Certified by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)
- Outpatient position at an Ambulatory Surgery Center
- Varied day shifts
- No on call or weekend shifts
- Average number of patients: Varies
- Administers intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures. Potentially administers anesthesia to all ages and A.S.A. classes of patients, including geriatrics and pediatrics. Provides airway management services as needed throughout the hospital.
- Provides leadership in the professional practice setting.
- Supports and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Delegates tasks to assistive personnel in a respectful professional manner.
- Identify patient problem and collaborates with the Anesthesia / Surgeon / Perioperative team in the selection of appropriate interventions (tasks).
- Interacts with members of the health care team to plan and coordinate the perioperative care.
- Promotes a healthy work environment through promotion of professional communication standards, commitment to co-workers, and positive problem resolution.
- Conducts appropriate pre-anesthetic assessments, and document findings.
- In collaboration with the anesthesiologist, determines the appropriate anesthetic plan of management, manages all aspects of anesthesia care to include preoperative, perioperative, and immediate postoperative care.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation of care for all procedures.
- Provides airway management and/or intubations for emergent, non-emergent, and resuscitation situations throughout the hospital.
- Anticipates and exceeds patients and customers’ expectations that meet all elements of the Henry Ford Experience.
- Identifies services and care improvement ideas and act on them to create excellent customer experiences.

- Maintains compliance with regulatory standards regarding practice, environment, and documentation.
- Directs and delegates nursing care based on patient acuity and staff competency that is consistent with the nurse’s obligation to provide optimum patient care.

- Frequent walking, bending, lifting may be required to perform duties.
- Work is generally in an operating room environment, but can be in Radiology, ICU, ER, or wherever nurse anesthesia services are required in the hospital.
- Working conditions are variable with exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards. Driving may be required, dependent on specialty.

- Not accepting new graduates. At least 2 years CRNA work experience (not including RN or training) is required.
- Not accepting 1099 candidates
- Not accepting Locums candidates
- Will consider candidates who were previously Board Certified and need to obtain again
- Open to H1B and J1 visa candidates
Conditions of Employment:
