Automation Machine Operator

PURPOSE

The Machine Operator is responsible for the daily function of the Automated Manufacturing Lines and reports to the Production Line Manager.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Loads Raw Parts and Unloads Finished Parts from the manufacturing cell
• Complete in-process checks on parts to ensure we’re making quality products
• Respond to Cell alarms when they happen, the First Line of Defense for Downtime
• Monitors Run Charts to identify features that are trending out of spec and make necessary adjustments
• Completes daily Startup Procedures and End of Shift logs
• Communicates and escalates issues to the appropriate department in a timely manner
• Responsible for completing Changeovers in the cell, including changing Tooling, Fixtures, EOAT, Drawer Templates, etc., to get the cell ready for Production
• Moves Finished Parts to the next step in the Process
• Escalates issues to the appropriate party, taking a proactive approach to producing quality parts and keeping the machines running
• Washes parts using High Pressure Parts Washer
• Work with a Team to continuously improve the processes within the automation cells
• Always keep the area clean and in a Tour-Ready state
• Other duties as necessary

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Experience in an Automated Production environment
• Able to watch a Process and identify areas for improvement
• Competency with basic measurement tools (calipers, thread gages, etc.)
• Experience working with Fanuc Robots, Allen Bradley PLCs, Okuma CNCs, Zeiss CMMs, a plus but not necessary
• Self-starter with the ability to identify and prioritize tasks to be the most efficient
• Ability to read Run Charts and know when a change needs to be made to keep Production on track (SPC)
• Good Team Player, willing to jump in and lend a hand to the surrounding team
• Basic Computer Knowledge, including Microsoft Office programs
• Able to lift up to 35lbs
• Able to maneuver over 100 lbs. with the assistance of manual and electric cranes

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
• 1 or more years of relevant experience preferred

Work Environment:

• Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a moderate noise level. In this position, you are working a full-time schedule in a manufacturing setting.

Schedule:

1st shift: 6am - 4:30pm

2nd Shift: 4:15pm - 2:45am
