Our client, a well-established manufacturer in the Sturgis, MI area, is seeking a Production Planning Supervisor to lead and optimize their material planning operations. This hands-on leadership role is vital to maintaining a smooth, cost-effective supply of materials that keeps production running on schedule. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of planning acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership experience within a manufacturing setting. As the Production Planning Supervisor, you'll oversee a team of material planners and ensure the right materials are available at the right time. Your ability to align planning strategies with production goals, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives will have a direct impact on operational efficiency and bottom-line success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute material planning strategies to support production demands.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of raw materials.
• Collaborate closely with production, procurement, and logistics to align supply with demand.
• Analyze production schedules and sales forecasts to anticipate material needs.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve material shortages or overages.
• Ensure suppliers meet delivery expectations and achieve on-time performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts across planning and inventory management processes.
• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of material planners to achieve departmental goals.
• Ensure all processes are compliant with company policies and relevant safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
• Effective leadership and team development capabilities.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Proficient in MRP methodologies and PFEP (Plan for Every Part) best practices.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• APICS (ASCM) certification in CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD.
• Understanding of ISO standards related to materials and supply chain management.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives to improve supply chain performance.
• Exposure to high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environments.
