Summary:

To work for Allegiant Laundry Services as a van driver utilizing the ability to drive effectively to maximize efficiency and increase revenue. To pick up and deliver cargo to customers in a manner that will improve the company’s efficiency and result in outstanding customer service. The driver/technician position assists with maintaining the laundry facilities to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation. Maintaining cleanliness of the delivery van, use effective communication with customers and Allegiant logistic team when in route to ensure on time deliveries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver product to and pick up product from specified locations
• Develop and maintain an efficient routing system
• Ensure sales tickets are made out prior to loading or delivery
• Develop and maintain an organized and efficient loading and unloading system
• Unload cargo according to customers' requests
• Provide excellent customer service to Allegiant Linen Services clients
• Clean and maintain equipment, and communicates any maintenance or issues to appropriate person(s)
• Keep track of laundry and client products
• Conduct light cleaning of facility to maintain its cleanliness and ensure appropriate sanitation
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

• The truck driver will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within Allegiant and a favorable image of Allegiant. Driver must have
• Over 1 year general experience of 14 foot box truck or larger
• Valid and current driver’s license in the state of Michigan
• Exceptional driving record.
• Adapts to frequent changes in the work environment
• Practices safe work habits to ensure customer and staff safety
• Uses equipment and materials properly
• Displays reliable attendance and promptness
• Ability to problem solve
• Technological skills to record and track product/order completion
• Maintains appropriate appearance in regard to clothing and hygiene
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Outstanding physical dexterity – must be able to lift, load & push 50+ pounds
• Must know how to use tow straps.
• Extremely well organized.

Education and/or Experience:

High School or equivalent completion, or in process.

Valid Michigan Driver’s License with clean driving record. One year of commercial driving experience.

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to reach with arms and hands, stand, walk, and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Delivery Sprinter Van: Position makes frequent gross motor and fine motor skills movement including bending, stretching, extending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, eye/hand/foot coordination and lifting. Position utilizes visual and auditory memory and discrimination, reads and writes, must use judgment and make simple and complex decisions.
