Service Repair Technician

Blue Chip Talent , in partnership with an industrial services organization, is seeking a skilled Pump Service Technician . This role is responsible for repairing and rebuilding pump systems, supporting preventative maintenance efforts, and completing technical documentation within a shop and field environment. The position blends hands-on mechanical work with system-based reporting and parts coordination.

Job Duties

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild pump systems including centrifugal, submersible, and vacuum units
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment in both shop and field settings
• Document repair processes, inspections, and service outcomes using digital systems
• Generate parts lists, order materials, and support inventory coordination for repair projects
• Assist with on-site service calls, supporting maintenance and repair activities at customer locations
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces aligned with shop standards
• Capture initial condition reports and intake documentation for incoming equipment
• Support project closeout by ensuring all service records and documentation are complete

Skills & Experience

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Hands-on mechanical experience using tools such as wrenches, drills, and presses
• Experience disassembling and reassembling mechanical equipment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, OneDrive)
• Experience using digital devices (tablets/laptops) for reporting or work tracking
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals, drawings, or schematics
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in shop and field environments

Desired

• Associate’s degree or technical training in mechanical or related field
• Experience with pumps, compressors, motors, or similar industrial equipment
• Background in automotive, maintenance, or mechanical repair environments
• Familiarity with hydraulic presses and diagnostic tools
• Experience with service management or ERP systems
• Exposure to wastewater or industrial service environments
