Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: South Bend, IN 46601 (Indiana nursing jobs)
• Unit: 10 South Medical Oncology (Telemetry focus)
• Employment Type: Locum tenens, travel nurse contract
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/29/2025 – End: 12/29/2025)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1890 - $1940
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
• Floating: Required within hospital and affiliate hospitals
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue top / White or Royal Blue bottom

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (MedSurg or Telemetry strongly preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state, or willing to obtain)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (must be current or obtained before start; pending accepted)
• Must pass medication and EKG competency tests
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Able to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start training modules

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with medical, oncology, telemetry, and end-of-life needs
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips, cardiac rhythms, and telemetry patients
• Administer medications, blood products, and perform phlebotomy
• Care for central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, surgical drains, and wound vacs
• Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and titrate cardiac drips as needed
• Implement isolation precautions and manage substance withdrawal protocols
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
