Job Title: Class 1 – Machine Tool Builder – Mechanical

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Machine Tool Builder who will be responsible for fitting and assembling components according to assembly drawings and engineering manuals for immediate opening with our growing team. This is a great opportunity to work with a company that is highly skilled in the growing automation testing industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine procedures and requirements

• Assemble mechanical systems according to blueprints and specifications

• Fit and align components using hand and power tools

• Assess and verify that all parts conform to specifications and quality standards using measuring tools such as calipers and gauges

• Work cohesively with engineering and other technical team members

Qualifications and Skills:

• Understanding of mechanical systems, assembly processes, and safety protocols

• 3-5 years of previous experience in machine assembly or related mechanical system assembly

• Ability to read mechanical drawings (fluid and pneumatic schematics, is a plus)

• Experience with basic hand tools, cutoff saws, grinders, mills, lathes and sanding equipment

• Experience with use of Bridgeport and surface grinder

• Ability to align spindles and fixtures

• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to effectively communicate and resolve issues

• Precision minded with attention to detail

• Basic math and measurement skills, metric and inch units

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing or shop floor setting

• Positive attitude, team player, and excellent work ethic

• Exposure to machinery, tools, and moving equipment

• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week, with overtime available when needed

• On-site in our Livonia, MI (48150) facility
