Shift: Weekly rotating shifts
Pay: $25–$34/hour (based on experience)
Location: Portage, MI

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Boiler Operator to support critical facility operations in a high-performance environment. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for monitoring and operating boiler systems and supporting overall plant reliability and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

You will play a key role in keeping systems running safely and efficiently:

• Monitor and operate boiler and utility systems
• Adjust and maintain main plant equipment for optimal performance
• Troubleshoot equipment and respond to alarms or system alerts
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks
• Conduct chemical testing and water treatment analysis
• Maintain system logs, operational records, and documentation
• Answer facility calls and coordinate responses as needed
• Order supplies and maintain inventory for boiler room operations
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of boiler room or facilities experience
• Strong working knowledge of boiler systems and operations
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and system issues
• Comfortable using diagnostic tools and basic computer systems
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Class 4 NIULPE Power Engineer’s License required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasional heavier assistance may be needed)
• Experience with boiler systems and facility operations

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of water treatment and chemical analysis
• Experience with building automation or alarm systems
• Strong organizational and supply ordering skills
