We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving person who can join our team. Primary hours: 1st shift (7 AM to 3:30/4:00 PM) Monday to Friday. Must have experience driving a hilo / forklift handling steel bins weighing 2000 lbs to 4000 lbs, especially loading and unloading trailer trucks. Primary responsibilities include:
- Unloading the customer’s truck, recording the gross weights and tare weights of each container onto the customer’s shipper, and placing the containers in the appropriate receiving area. Moving material on the customers truck that is not designated to AMP if needed.
- Moving material to and from storage areas and to and from production equipment. Weighing out finished orders and recording that information on the paper copy of the Work Order.
- Loading containers into or onto the customer’s truck in the manner prescribed by the truck driver.
- Creating work orders from the customer’s shipping documents.
- Performing tagging of hoppers being used throughout the heat treat process.
- Creating manual or electronic shipping documents, when necessary.
- Answering the telephones, taking messages, and routing phone calls to the correct AMP personnel or department.
- Responding to customer inquiries via phone and email as to the status of their work orders at AMP. If necessary, inquire with the Plant Manager and communicate expected dates/time of completion to customers.
- Educating requesting customers on how they can obtain the shippers, certs, invoices or inventory of their product at AMP via the automated request system.
- Recognizing when there is a problem with incoming or outgoing material (such as rusty parts, mixed parts, damaged parts, damaged containers, etc.) and reporting this problem to the appropriate personnel.
- Coordinating forklift truck inspections, with frequency as determined by each shift supervisor, to verify the safety and integrity of each forklift truck.
- Providing pleasant and cordial interactions with all drivers as a representative of AMP.
- Regularly clean (sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, etc.) office, restroom, IT/coffee area, conference room, and shipping office.
- Empty trash from shipping office, office restroom, conference room, and individual trash bins in office.
- Refill staplers, copier paper, toner, etc. as needed to ensure smooth daily operation.
- Prepare any new parts for review by Plant Manager and Quality Manager by taking photo and obtaining single piece weight (APW).
- Regularly clean (sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, etc.) office, restroom, IT/coffee area, conference room, and shipping office.
- Empty trash from shipping office, office restroom, conference room, employee break room, and individual trash bins in office.
- Check and refill staplers, copier paper, toner, drinks, etc. as needed to ensure smooth daily operation.
- Check plant supplies (gloves, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee, etc.) and place requests.
- Note received date of purchased material, as it arrives, into WORP and verify for accuracy and completeness of the order.
- Communicating with incoming shift personnel to advise and alert them as to issues, priorities, and other pertinent information that they may need to perform their job functions properly.
- Red-Tagging and Quarantining material that is Non-Conforming or is suspected to be Non-Conforming and notifying the proper personnel of the actions and the reasons for the actions.
