Veterinary Assistant, Emergency
Location: Byron Center, MI
Schedule: Part Time & Full Time Available | FT Hours Are 3 Twelve Hour Shifts Per Week -Overnight Availability Required | Rotating Weekends & Holidays | Shift Bids Every 6 Months
Compensation: $17-25/hr Dependent On Experience | $3/Hour Shift Differential (Hours Between 11pm & 7am)

Our 10,000 sq. ft. hospital is open 24/7 and offers advanced care in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology and Cardiology. - Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments and procedures.
- Perform technical tasks; IVC placement, medication administration, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, patient monitoring, etc.
- Monitor anesthesia using ECG, SpO2, EtCO2, and NIBP.
- Provide pre- and post-surgical care and assist with surgical prep and recovery for patients.
- Handle and process laboratory samples for submission to local and offsite labs.
- Accurately obtain and relay detailed patient histories.
- Document records, treatment and diagnostics into systems (EzyVet and SmartFlow).
- Communicate effectively with clients on treatment plans, estimates, and discharge instructions including callbacks and updates.
- Educate and communicate with clients regarding their pet's condition, treatment plans, review of estimates, and follow-up care.
- Support hospital cleanliness, safety protocols and inventory management.
- Additional duties as requested by hospital leadership.
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant , with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

- Fluent English (spoken and written) is required; bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
