Quality Management Systems Compliance Lead (AS9100/ISO/NIST)

Product & Tooling Technologies Inc
Fraser, MI

Imagine Your Week

On Monday morning, you review the latest AS9100 and ISO 9001 checklists and finalize documentation packages for an upcoming surveillance audit. Midweek, you’re running an energetic orientation for new hires, demystifying compliance expectations and showing where to find the latest controlled policies. By Friday, you’ve wrapped a process audit, briefed executives on findings, and kicked off corrective and preventive actions—keeping the organization aligned with federal, state, and local requirements.

What You’ll Own

  • Coordinate the preparation, completion, and continual improvement of regulatory and compliance documents to achieve and maintain AS9100, ISO, and NIST certifications.
  • Verify that all compliance documentation satisfies applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of controls, procedures, and operational processes tied to each certification framework.
  • Lead employee awareness initiatives—train new hires during orientation and deliver organization-wide training when requirements or expectations change.
  • Issue timely communications when policies are introduced or revised, and reinforce compliant work practices with periodic reminders.
  • Champion adherence to ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements across processes and teams.
  • Administer compliance policies: control revisions and releases, maintain current controlled versions for employee access, and secure proper executive review/authorization prior to release.
  • Stay current with industry standards and regulatory trends that could impact operations regionally, nationally, or internationally.
  • Oversee records related to reports of noncompliance and investigation requests/results; evaluate these records alongside documented program policies and procedures.
  • Plan and execute process and documentation audits to confirm regulatory alignment and gauge employee understanding of company rules and expectations.
  • Provide routine reports to executive leadership summarizing audit outcomes, rule violations, investigation status, CAPA progress, and recommendations for program enhancements.
  • Keep up to date with relevant literature and external/agency requirements to anticipate changes.
  • Apply initiative, sound judgment, and strong communication to mobilize the quality team and hit mandated conformance deadlines during certification efforts.
  • Ensure compliance documentation and system procedures are completed accurately and on time.
  • Interact confidently with personnel at every level, as well as customers and suppliers—consistently projecting a professional, positive, and informed demeanor.
  • Serve as the point of contact and subject-matter expert for your area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent blend of experience plus specialized training/certification.
  • 2–4 years in quality control/assurance, ideally with hands-on implementation of AS9100, ISO, and/or NIST programs.
  • Desirable: background in CNC machining or solid familiarity with machining concepts and practices.
  • Multi-industry exposure (e.g., aerospace, automotive, military, medical device) is a plus.
  • Meticulous, detail-driven work habits and a thorough command of QC/QA procedures and processes.
  • Strong reading comprehension, research capability, clear written and verbal communication, and active listening.

Proficiencies

  • GD&T
  • AS9100
  • ISO 9001 Certification Experience
