Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
Core Responsibilities
- Clinical Care : Take vital signs, collect blood or tissue samples, and give medications.
- Surgery Support : Prep surgical tools, induce and monitor anesthesia, and track patient recovery.
- Laboratory Work : Run in-house blood work, fecal exams, and urinalysis.
- Client Communication : Explain at-home care, medication schedules, and dietary needs to pet owners. [1 , 2 , 3 , 4]
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education : Earn an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited veterinary technology program.
- Licensing : Pass the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) and hold an active state license.
- Skills : Handle animals safely, use medical software, and work well in high-stress environments
