Installation Technician, Grand Rapids

Job Description

Join our team as a 1st shift Installation Technician, where you will engage in diverse tasks both at our shop and on-site at customer locations. This role involves approximately 60% travel. Your primary responsibilities include creating components for conveyor belts and machines used in the plastic bottling industry, utilizing hand and power tools, and supporting CNC machining and fabrication as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating components of conveyor belts and machines at the shop using hand and power tools such as wrenches and drills.
  • Support CNC machining and fabrication tasks if you have the relevant
  • Work collaboratively in teams to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Travel with an installation lead to customer sites to assemble and install conveyors and machines.
  • Work extended hours, including nights and weekends, during installation projects, with overtime opportunities available.
  • Adapt to variable project lengths and travel for approximately 100 days a year.

Essential Skills

  • 3-4 years of experience in Assembly/Machine Building.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading.
  • Mechanical aptitude and skills in machine building, assembly, and installation.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, mechanical and electrical assembly.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel 60% of the time.

Work Environment

Work in a well-maintained job shop environment, assisting in the construction of custom conveyor systems for the plastic bottling industry. Steel-toed boots and tools are required, and you will also assemble products at various customer facilities. Enjoy a mix of shop-based work and field installations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
