Manager Software Controls EngineeringSummary
Join the rapidly growing team of motivated Software Controls Engineers developing Vehicle and Device level Controls for driveline systems for Electrification and Conventional Projects- Balance resources across projects to ensure timely quality delivery of all project goals, ensure efficient & high quality output deliverables from team, and develop key/unique advantages in Software & Controls discipline for Driveline Products.
- Manage Vehicle Software and Controls Engineering team to support integration, testing, and manufacturing of components, sub-systems, and systems with software control.
- Lead Vehicle Controls Engineering team with development and testing Control algorithm in Model based and C Code.
- Lead peer reviews and approve designs, Control Algorithms, and calibrations for a given program.
- Establish goals and objectives and develop measurable metrics to gauge achievement against goals
- Must have very good knowledge and experience in Mathworks, IMB, Vector tools, and operate all types of electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, generators, logic analyzers, etc.) for design verification and engineering activities
- Experience in Model based SW development and full software V cycle from requirements, architecture, Model based design, testing and rolling out to customers as well as best practices and continuous integration.
- Strong leader and people manager with experience in setting a strong vision/roadmap for your team with a track record of delivering results while growing/mentoring engineers on your team.
- Deliver technical presentations to various stakeholders and participates in technical reviews throughout the product development cycle.
- Work closely with cross functional teams and Advance Engineering team to plan and support advance Controls engineering development.
- Experience and knowledge design-launch-maintain components and systems at various Automotive Functional Safety Levels from ASIL-QM through D.
- Ability to travel to global test sites, as required, for calibration, tuning, and validation of controls.
- Experience in leading engineering teams of 5 -10 engineers for a minimum of 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering.
- 10+ years in automotive SW controls development, preferably 5+ years in Driveline experience.
- Good understanding & experience in vehicle dynamics, vehicle controls, and device controls
- Good vehicle and bench level SW debugging skills
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the year.
- Expert in developing controls algorithms in Matlab/Simulink environment.
- Highly Skilled in use of IBM Rational Tool Set, and Vector tools such as CANape and CANoe.
- Skilled in CARSim or other model-based simulation tool.
- Good understanding of AUTOSAR.
- Broad Knowledge of Driveline Components and their functionality.
- Developed and launched programs assessed at ASPICE Level 2 and various Functional Safety Levels (ASIL-QM to D)
- Excellent Organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
