Custodial Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Industrial Housekeeping Supervisor to lead and support our custodial team in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient facility environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, knowledge of industrial safety practices, and the ability to oversee day-to-day operations in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations across the facility, including production floors, restrooms, break areas, and offices.

• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching/training to custodial staff.

• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations including OSHA and company standards.

• Conduct inspections to verify cleaning quality, safety compliance, and equipment functionality.

• Manage supplies and inventory, ensuring proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Maintain schedules and coverage, including overtime and shift adjustments as needed.

• Respond promptly to spills, hazards, and emergencies to minimize safety risks and downtime.

• Collaborate with facility and operations teams to meet production and housekeeping needs.

• Complete reports and documentation on cleaning performance, safety incidents, and employee attendance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial operations (industrial/manufacturing environment preferred).

• Strong knowledge of safety procedures, LOTO, PPE, and industrial cleaning practices .

• Experience managing and motivating a team of 10–20 employees.

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, walking on multiple levels).

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and variable shifts as required.

• Experience working with unionized employees is a plus.
