Job Summary
The Enterprise Systems Administrator is responsible for the College’s computing systems. Duties include installation, maintenance, and upgrades of the hardware and software and interfacing with users to determine support needs.
Essential Functions (Employees of the District must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the position as detailed in this section.)
· Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of the College’s computing systems by communicating with users and the Information Technology Services staff to determine and resolve system problems.
· Maintains software at the most current software version levels.
· Assigns and maintains user account resources, resetting of passwords, loads applications on the system.
· Monitors system resources and works with the maintenance provider as necessary.
· Conducts the annual server component inventory.
· Ensures the safety of user and system files by configuring M365 Data Loss Prevention and E-Discovery configuration to facilitate recovery of data after a hardware crash of a system disk drive.
· Installs, configures and supports enterprise-wide software applications.
· Helps to ensure the availability of computer resources by assisting with disaster prevention and recovery efforts caused by events like power outages, hardware failures, etc.
· Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
· Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required.
· Contributes to the overall success of information technology services by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Employees of the District are required to possess a minimum proficiency level of English, both written and spoken, that will enable them to communicate safely, effectively, and efficiently with students, co-workers, and the public.)
· A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience as a systems administrator with a background and demonstrated expertise in hardware, documentation techniques, and systems analysis or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated specified experience is required.
· An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for the substitution of educational requirements.
· Possess a valid Class C driver's license.
· Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
· Automate system administration tasks using scripting tools and modern programming languages.
· Windows-based PC operating systems as well as experience with multiple software and hardware installations.
· General understanding of Microsoft Azure, M365, lntune, Exchange and Defender platforms.
