Role Snapshot

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair foundry equipment: furnaces, molding lines, core-making machines, grinders, conveyors, presses, and automated systems.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to prevent unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
• Strip down and reassemble machinery; replace bearings, gears, shafts, hydraulic components, and related parts.
• Weld, machine, and fabricate components needed to complete repairs.
• Use diagnostic tools and methods to solve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Maintain precise records for work orders, repairs, and inventory of parts.
• Support upgrades, modifications, and installations of new or retrofitted machines.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize impact on operations.
• Comply with all safety practices including lockout tagout and OSHA plus foundry-specific regulations.

Must-Have Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; additional technical or vocational training preferred.
• 6 or more years of industrial maintenance or machine repair experience in a foundry, steel mill, or heavy manufacturing environment, or a completed journeyman program.
• Expertise with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear trains.
• Ability to weld, machine, and fabricate replacement parts.
• Proficiency reading blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Competent with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to lift 50 plus pounds and work in hot, dusty, physically demanding conditions.

Work Setting

• Foundry environment with molten metal, high heat, dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
• PPE is required: steel-toe boots, face shield, respirator, gloves, protective clothing.
• Flexibility for multiple shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed.
