Job Description: Injection Molding Material Handler

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Injection Molding Material Handler to join our team. The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient handling, movement, and preparation of materials used in the injection molding process, ensuring the production line runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strong focus on organization, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Material Preparation and Handling :

  • Load and unload raw materials, resins, and additives for injection molding machines.
  • Ensure material hoppers are filled and properly monitored during production.
  • Mix and prepare materials according to production requirements and quality standards.

• Inventory Management :

  • Track and maintain inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Conduct regular material inspections to identify contamination, damage, or discrepancies.
  • Report inventory needs and discrepancies to the supervisor.

• Equipment Maintenance :

  • Clean and maintain material handling equipment, including loaders, dryers, and grinders.
  • Assist in troubleshooting material flow issues and ensuring proper material delivery.
  • Perform routine checks on auxiliary equipment to ensure proper functioning.

• Quality Assurance :

  • Verify materials are free of contamination and meet quality specifications.
  • Record and report material lot numbers for traceability.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized production floor to uphold safety and quality standards.

• Safety and Compliance :

  • Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and OSHA regulations.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience :

  • Previous experience in injection molding or manufacturing preferred.
  • Familiarity with material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification is a plus).

• Technical Skills :

  • Basic understanding of resins, additives, and material drying processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules and material specifications.

• Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and working in a manufacturing environment.

• Interpersonal Skills :

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional technical or manufacturing training is a plus.

Work Schedule

• 1st shift- 8am to 4pm
• 3rd shift- Midnight to 8am

Compensation and Benefits

• $18.00/hour. Potential of up to $.50 raise after 30/60/90 days
