Pastoral Associate - Communications & Event Coordinator

Saint Francis of Assisi Parish is a large, vibrant, and active community with nearly 3,000 registered families and is seeking a Pastoral Associate to coordinate its communications and events. This 30-hour position provides full-time benefits and a flexible schedule depending on the Parish’s needs and the candidate’s availability. Periodic evening and weekend work is expected.

Clear, timely, and consistent communication is essential to the parish’s mission of evangelization, stewardship, and engagement. This role manages communications within the parish including the weekly bulletin, parish website, and social media platforms. This position is also responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of internal events and external rentals. This position works closely with the pastor, associate pastor, and full-time pastoral team of 12.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and submit the weekly parish bulletin
• Maintain and update the parish website with current content
• Develop and schedule content for parish social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook)
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to promote and run parish events
• Develop and manage a weekly parish-wide email communications system
• Additional tasks as assigned by the pastor

Desired Skills

• Proficiency with Canva Pro and Microsoft Publisher
• Experience managing social media accounts
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet regular deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively with Pastoral Team and volunteers
• Strong written and verbal communications

The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic who supports the mission and teachings of the Church. The candidate will love working behind the scenes to enable the seamless flow of communication and events within the parish. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. He/she will answer to the pastor for their ministry and work.
