Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Whitehall, MI
Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments of manufacturing operations and facilities.
- Investigate EHS incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees on various safety topics and procedures.
- Implement and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures relevant to manufacturing processes (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hazardous waste).
- Manage hazardous waste streams and ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal in accordance with regulations.
- Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive EHS experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hazard communication, waste management).
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and provide effective EHS training.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Qualifications
- Professional EHS certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM)
- Experience with EHS management software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Sphera)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or other continuous improvement certification
- Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 or ISO 45001
