Accounts Payable / Receivable Specialist | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $44,000 - $66,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding and approvals.
• Generate and distribute customer invoices, statements, and credit memos.
• Process customer payments, apply cash accurately, and reconcile daily cash receipts.
• Manage accounts receivable collections for overdue customer accounts.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable sub-ledgers.
• Resolve discrepancies and issues with vendors and customers related to billing and payments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities for AP and AR.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable roles.
• Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel functions.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific manufacturing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Epicor)
• Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and international vendors/customers
• Basic understanding of cost accounting principles or inventory valuation
• Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for invoices and payments
