ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Marquette, MI 49855 (Upper Peninsula – Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Level II Trauma Center, 24-bed Intensive Care Unit
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (locum tenens)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020-$2070
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (September 8, 2025 – December 8, 2025)
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Charting: Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR)

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – eligible for Michigan nursing jobs
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Experience with ventilated ICU patients
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Preferred: Experience in CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, or pediatric DKA

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in a 24-bed ICU setting
• Manage complex diagnoses: post-open heart, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, and septic shock
• Operate advanced ICU equipment: Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, ventilators, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other hospital units as required, rotating with other travel nurses
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EHR
• Adhere to hospital policies, dress code (galaxy, royal, or navy blue scrubs), and safety standards
