Software Engineer (SAP FICO)

Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer (SAP FICO) for a Contract role with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid) . This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications across the full development lifecycle, with deep hands‑on configuration experience in SAP S/4HANA FICO modules. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise, strong analytical abilities, and experience working in Agile, product‑driven environments.

Rate Range: $65/hour to $74/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Software Engineer (SAP FICO) job responsibilities include:

• Engage directly with customers and business stakeholders to understand use‑cases, pain points, and requirements, advocating for user‑centric solutions.

• Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering solutions using various tools, languages, and Agile methodologies.

• Assess application and service requirements to determine suitable technology stack, integration approach, and deployment strategy.

• Create high‑level software architecture designs outlining system structure, components, and interfaces.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including designers, product owners, architects, and engineering teams.

• Apply programming best practices including TDD, CI/CD , code reviews, and automation.

• Provide hands‑on configuration expertise in SAP S/4HANA FI and CO modules , including:

  • FI: GL, AP, AR, AA

  • CO: CO‑PC, CO‑CCA, CO‑ML, CO‑PA

• Support FCV/FCTA stand programs and month‑end close processes .

• Ensure integration between SAP FICO and other S/4 modules such as Purchasing, Sales, and Production .

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in two programming languages , or advanced proficiency in one.

• 6 years of IT experience , including 4 years in software development .

• 7+ years of SAP S/4HANA configuration experience in FI & CO modules.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Experience working in multi‑company code, multi‑currency environments .

• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot functional issues to determine root cause.

• Ability to read and debug ABAP (no development required).

• Experience with SAP development technologies such as ABAP, Integration frameworks, and UI tools .

• Strong knowledge of SAP integration points with other functional areas.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience working in a Product‑Driven Agile organization .

Pay Details: $65.00 to $74.00 per hour
