Nesco Resource is searching for a PRODUCTION SPECIALIST (Supervisory position) for a long-established manufacturer in Hazel Park, MI. This is a 2 nd shift, DIRECT HIRE opportunity.

Shift: 2:00pm 11:00pm
Pay: $50-75k (salary with straight overtime after 45 hours)
Start: Ideally before 5/30/24

SUMMARY

• This position will provide Direct Floor Supervision to the production process
• Support the company KPIs, introduce change points that may be necessary to meet these KPIs. Stabilize the production unit within these established change points.
• Coach and Develop our Production Team Members/Leaders by fostering The EPIC Way

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES

• Support the Production Manager to achieve the targets and goals of the business unit
• Ensure the basics Workplace policy and rules are followed, be visible and involved with team members on the shop floor
• Teach fundamental concepts of The EPIQ Way
• Secure pre-shift conditions, maintain production conditions and ensure post-shift conditions are met
• 5S development thru EMDS (EPIQ Management Development Systems)
• Administer vacation and overtime processes, and payroll for direct reports
• Assess team member skill levels and coach to improve those skills
• Maintain records, documentation, and results against established goals in all key performance areas
• Assist with maintaining a safe work environment for all team members
• Assist in continuous improvement activities with the facility
• Other duties, as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of experience in a Supervisory position that has provided exposure to direct line supervision in an industrial environment, and direct customer contact
• Strong understanding and support of continuous improvement, be results oriented with focus on achieving company KPIs, and possess strong ethical conduct
• Have a problem-solving mindset and for preventing problems "down the road

• Associate's Degree in Business or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

• Strong decision making ability
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Maintain strict confidentiality
• Ability to lift 70 pounds
