Workers’ Compensation Specialist
Job Summary:
The Workers’ Compensation Specialist is responsible for managing the company’s workers’ compensation claims process, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and supporting employees throughout the claim lifecycle. This role involves coordination with insurance carriers, medical providers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and administer workers’ compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution.
Act as the primary point of contact for employees, supervisors, insurance carriers, and medical providers regarding claims.
Ensure compliance with state and federal workers’ compensation laws and company policies.
Review and analyze medical records, accident reports, and other documentation related to claims.
Facilitate return-to-work programs and modified duty assignments when appropriate.
Maintain accurate claim records and generate regular reports for management and insurance carriers.
Investigate claims as needed to determine legitimacy and identify potential risk exposures.
Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Legal departments to mitigate workplace injuries and prevent future claims.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
Previous experience managing workers’ compensation claims.
Knowledge of state and federal workers’ compensation regulations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency with workers’ compensation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with occasional visits to job sites as needed.
Full-time position with standard business hours.
