High School Spanish Teacher
The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring a High School Spanish Teacher for Eastern High School. This individual will ensure students receive world-class Spanish language instruction. Our teachers must also work to build safe, nurturing classrooms where students can be themselves and work collaboratively towards common learning goals. Teachers will work alongside other teachers, parents, and students to ensure they are providing the best education experience to all students.
This position is 0.4 FTE
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish education or related field (Spanish, Spanish literature, etc.)
- Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with Spanish language endorsement (will be required to enroll in program if don't currently possess)
- Previous successful teaching experience in urban setting
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate passion for and expertise of high school Spanish
- Provide world-class instruction in various Spanish content areas
- Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
