Position: Varsity Baseball Head Coach

Location: Climax-Scotts Jr/Sr High

Season: Spring

Stipend: Per district contract

Reports To: Athletic Director / Building Principal

Position Summary

Climax-Scotts Jr/Sr High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Varsity Baseball Head Coach to lead and develop our baseball program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to academic and athletic excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee the entire varsity baseball program
• Develop student-athletes’ skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character
• Create and implement effective practice plans and game strategies
• Supervise and collaborate with assistant and sub-varsity coaches
• Promote positive behavior and adherence to school and MHSAA policies
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, staff, and administration
• Maintain equipment and assist with inventory needs
• Ensure student-athlete academic eligibility and attendance expectations
• Represent the school and program in a professional manner at all times

Qualifications

• Prior baseball coaching experience preferred (high school or higher)
• Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and strategy
• Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Must meet all district and MHSAA coaching requirements, including:
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Concussion awareness training
  • Background check clearance
