About you and this role Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sourcing Manager for North America Raw Materials located in Midland, Michigan. In this role, you will create value for Dow by defining sourcing opportunities, developing and aligning sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier relationships, analyzing market conditions, and negotiating with suppliers and internal partners to optimize sustained value for Dow across their assigned portfolio. This role requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in the discipline, making recommendations to unblock conflicts and leading others to solve complex or unique problems. This role will require specialized, in-depth knowledge and advanced expertise in your discipline and functional area. You will need to analyze and identify internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. You should be able to communicate difficult concepts to others and persuade others to adopt a different point of view in close collaboration with the Business Executives. It is your responsibility to be able to use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify and suggest innovative solutions. You will need to be able to lead others and make recommendations to solve complex problems and potentially lead functional teams or projects with high risk, and/or complexity. Your performance impacts business direction through the development of new products or services. Responsibilities - Utilize strong business acumen and leverage best practices to drive value from the market and influence stakeholders.
- Responsible for the negotiation, execution and implementation of commercial agreements and related work processes in accordance with the global strategies within the commercial area and/or geography.
- Use influential leadership to elevate the performance of their workgroup. Demonstrated depth of expertise in managing a portfolio with significant stakeholder, customer, and client impact.
- Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.
- Sourcing strategy development and client /stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications - A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills - A degree discipline in Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in purchasing or business.
