Lakeside Books in Benton Harbor is seeking a FT hourly associate for our eCommerce fulfillment team.

Shipping Specialists are responsible for the daily execution of operational tasks associated with order fulfillment, inventory integrity, and maintaining warehouse & property standards.

Qualifications include:

- Complete literacy and comprehension of the English language

- Possesses a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Programs including Word & Excel

- Attention to detail with a very high level of accuracy

- Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills

- Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills

- Effective organizational and time management skills

- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning client and corporate information

- Demonstrate the flexibility to learn and execute new tasks as they become relevant

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Ability to safely lift, up to 50lbs and carry short distances on a frequent basis

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day

- Ability to withstand repetitive hand motions

- Ability to climb, balance, kneel, push, pull, crouch, crawl, talk and walk frequently

- Ability to operate basic warehousing equipment such as pallet jacks, ladders, shipping tools & related equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

- Receiving and sorting daily inbound carrier shipments

- Accurately pull & prepare daily orders for outbound shipment

- Maintain packaging standards per carrier regulations & Lakeside Books guidelines

- Assist with the daily USPS manifest sortation & staging tasks

- Maintaining clean, safe and standardized zones & workspaces with general housekeeping responsibilities throughout the remainder of the facility & property

- ANY OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

- Preferred candidates will have, or be able to acquire, a chauffeur's license for local deliveries in our straight truck and the ability to operate a forklift.

Normal shifts are Monday through Friday between 9am and 7pm. Hours may vary during peak and seasonal times.
