The Hastings Area School System is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Young Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of young learners, and able to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with lower elementary endorsement - ZO
- Knowledge of early literacy and foundational math instruction
- Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate instructional practices
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Experience with differentiated instruction and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction aligned to Michigan academic standards
- Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive classroom environment
- Use assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, intervention staff, and families to support student success
- Integrate social-emotional learning and positive behavior supports into daily instruction
- Participate in school improvement efforts and ongoing professional learning opportunities
