• Location: Lansing, MI 48912 – Explore Michigan nursing jobs in a city with lively downtown, scenic riverwalks, and outdoor recreation.
• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, Pediatric Emergency Department
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends (Fri-Sun) per 4-week schedule
• Floating: Yes, including Pediatric ED
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6, up to 8 during high census/holidays
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1890-$1940

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (required by start date; compact licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year recent ER RN experience in a Level I Trauma Center (2 years preferred)
• Current certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA preferred)
  • BLS (AHA preferred)
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • ENPC
  • NIHSS
• EPIC EMR charting experience required
• Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Proof of high school education (required for allied candidates)
• Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients in a busy Emergency Department
• Respond to trauma, stroke, cardiac, and emergent cases as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Perform triage, patient assessment, and prioritize care based on acuity
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and procedural sedation
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, ventilated patients, and continuous IV sedation
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float to Pediatric Emergency Department as needed
• Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Complete required pre-assignment modules prior to start date
