Administrative Business Professional
The successful candidate will oversee and manage all human resources activities for the department which includes overseeing the position planning, recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of all faculty, academic staff and support staff, and the execution of all day-to-day HR operations. This position will participate in short and long-term planning related to HR and Finance; will analyze, develop, and implement HR- and finance-related process improvements and policies/guidelines, and provide guidance and oversight to other HR professionals in the department. This position will also act as Fiscal Officer for multiple general funds accounts and assist with general business operations as needed.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a business-related field or in a field which corresponds to the particular department of employment; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in office procedures and administration, or in performing responsibilities related to the operational activities of the employing unit; experience in a supervisory role; experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software and/or desktop publishing, web page software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with MSU policies and procedures, including FAS and support staff hiring policies and procedures and budget processes. Extensive experience with MSU systems such as EBS, SAP, Kuali, Business Intelligence and PageUp.
