Position Overview

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for daily payment reconciliations, agent commission processing, customer refunds, and other key accounting and operational functions. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to create and refine processes that support accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform daily reconciliation of a large volume of customer payments from multiple sources and develop standardized processes for each source of funds flow.

· Oversee customer refunds on a regular cadence in line with company policies.

· Process and reconcile monthly commission payments to agents.

· Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to rejected payments, credit card disputes, and one-off transaction issues.

· Regular review of accounts receivable (AR) reporting, investigate errors, and manage the write-off process for uncollected balances.

· Prepare bank and other reconciliations as required.

· Assist with annual 1099 reporting for agent commissions along with other types of compliance activities.

· Document and maintain processes and procedures regarding the policy management system to ensure compliance and efficiency.

· Assist with additional assigned accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· 2+ years of experience in accounting, reconciliations, or related financial operations.

· Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, reconciliations and treasury management.

· Proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems; experience with policy management systems is a plus.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.

· High attention to detail and accuracy.
