Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Internal Communications Specialist for our Leadership & Sponsor Services team at our Safety Assessment site located Mattawan, MI .

An Internal Communications Specialist develops content and implements internal communication strategies and plans that inform, engage, align, and inspire employees with Charles River’s vision and business strategy. The individual in this role develops and publishes content using electronic tools, including Sharepoint, Poppulo, and Digital Signage.

The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 anually USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior site leadership and Corporate Internal Communications on communication strategies and activities to support DSA business and key corporate initiatives.
  • Assist with development of messaging and internal communications for company updates, key initiatives, and other topics.
  • Create and support execution of communications plans for corporate groups and site directors for regular communications touchpoints and change initiatives.
  • Assist with implementation of communications strategies, programs, or activities that address specific business issues or employee needs.
  • Create clear, concise, and timely communications for a variety of audiences (senior executives to front-line employees) that convey key messages tied to business/company goals and foster employee understanding and commitment.
  • Issue communications using various vehicles, including the intranet, e-mail, speeches, presentations and print collateral.
  • Responsible for providing measurements of communications effectiveness using best practices and KPIs.
  • Manage email, intranet, digital signage and other communications channels, as needed.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in communications, web technologies, marketing, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Two to four years related experience in corporate communications with a focus on internal audiences and content and digital channel development.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Certification/Licensure: None.
  • Other:
    • Demonstrated excellence in writing and marketing skills required.
    • Proficiency in creating and proofing word-processed documents, spreadsheets and presentations required; experience with SharePoint/iConnect, PowerPoint, Microsoft Team meetings/webinars/town halls, Poppulo, Viva Engage (formerly Yammer), and other digital platform skills preferred.
