Position SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Tooling Preparation Technician to support the disassembly, cleaning, and preparation of tooling for the next stage of production. This role involves carefully taking apart tooling, cleaning components using shop equipment and approved materials, reassembling or gluing new components, and accurately documenting work progress.

No formal education is required — just dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow work instructions.
Key Responsibilities- Disassemble tooling according to written work instructions.
- Clean tools using sand blasting equipment, solvents, and approved cleaning methods.
- Prepare cleaned tooling for the next stage of production.
- Glue and assemble new components onto cleaned tooling as required.
- Accurately document job progress and completed work.
- Follow all work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Use basic shop tools and supplies to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Assist other departments occasionally as needed.
- No formal education required.
- Experience using basic shop tools and shop supplies.
- Ability to follow written work instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Comfortable working with tools, solvents, and shop equipment.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and willing to learn.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Previous manufacturing, tooling, shop, or production experience.
- Prior experience using micrometers or other measuring tools.
- Experience with tool cleaning, disassembly, reassembly, or component preparation.
- Familiarity with sand blasting, solvents, adhesives, or industrial cleaning processes.
- Background in precision manufacturing or industrial machinery is a plus, but not required.
This position is performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, solvents, cleaning materials, and temperature variations. Employees are required to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE. The role involves regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and hands-on work with tooling and materials.
