Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned materials and services.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to ensure a robust and competitive supply base.
• Issue purchase orders and monitor their status to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with production planning and engineering to forecast material needs and optimize inventory levels.
• Monitor supplier performance, address quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, new technologies, and potential supply chain risks.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365) for procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities for supply chain optimization.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, assembly).
• Experience with "should cost" modeling or total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience in continuous improvement methodologies.
