Production Control Specialist I

Responsibilities
- Set up work orders using dictated coils and general inventory under supervisor guidance
- Verify material suitability for customer jobs, ensuring all requirements such as gauge, grade, chemistry, and width are met
- Support the day-to-day flow of production control and assist specialists in configuring customer jobs accurately
- Assess material physicals to support quality standards and escalate questions or discrepancies to senior team members as needed
- Proactively search inventory to identify suitable material alternatives when primary options are unavailable
- Develop working knowledge of internal and external processor capabilities, including Slitter, Cut to Length, Slear, Pickling, Blanking, and Handshear
- Maintain accurate records and ensure follow-through on all assigned jobs
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple open tasks
- Comfortable speaking up and asking questions
- Basic math proficiency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Ability to think critically and develop solutions
