Production Control Specialist I

Responsibilities

• Set up work orders using dictated coils and general inventory under supervisor guidance
• Verify material suitability for customer jobs, ensuring all requirements such as gauge, grade, chemistry, and width are met
• Support the day-to-day flow of production control and assist specialists in configuring customer jobs accurately
• Assess material physicals to support quality standards and escalate questions or discrepancies to senior team members as needed
• Proactively search inventory to identify suitable material alternatives when primary options are unavailable
• Develop working knowledge of internal and external processor capabilities, including Slitter, Cut to Length, Slear, Pickling, Blanking, and Handshear
• Maintain accurate records and ensure follow-through on all assigned jobs
